im expected to go wandering around in the blizzards just to avoid it. I had no choice but to stay indoors during the repeated and long lasting blizzards that are a regular thing in this mode and if it had killed me I'd have been a little pissed because there was nothing I could do to prevent it. I'd have to agree wholeheartedly after having experienced it for myself that getting cabin fever for having spent a majority of 6 days indoors, while playing interloper should probably be tweaked in a future update. wham, you get hit with a 24 hour long DoT that you can't get rid of unless you risk hypothermia and die anyway. We firmly believe that the internet should be available and accessible to anyone and are committed to providing a. just when you think you're doing okay, set up with some food and hides, fishing gear and a snare or two. Accessibility StatementCompliance status. maybe sleep in a snow shelter with a fire beside and hope it doesnt get blown out? I dunno. I dont know how you could live through this affliction without a bedroll unless you do what I did. plus the only reason I was able to stay outside for so long was burning a pretty good amount of coal. I probably wouldn't have been able to pull it off and would have died from the resulting condition loss. but this whole situation dropped my condition quite a bit, and if i'd been lower when leaving PV, say under 40% which i was lucky to not be. However, I dealt with it by allowing myself to become exhausted fishing my butt off in one of the huts beside jackrabbit island, and continued fishing and sucking back 4 cups of coffee while waiting for my cabin fever to wear out. I had spent those 10 days running around outside as often as I could and I still got it just as I entered the mine to leave PV for coastal. Okay so, after reaching my 10th day on Interloper I can confirm that you will get cabin fever and there's almost nothing you can do about it. But that kind of thing while realistic takes a lot of the challenge away. Cabin fever was Hinterlands answer to people cheesing the game and just hunkering down indoors and passing time to rack up longevity stats. If you want to get even more technical you should be able to pick up a rabbit or deer carcass and take it home to harvest it. Back when the game first released Hinterland used to have leaderboards for various stats. I love a challenge but I want the tools to succeed to be there. I really want to see a reliable renewable fire starter like a bow drill added to the game at some point. I will say, now more than ever with how rough interloper is. You can actually last week's without food on minimal calories. You also don't starve to death nearly as quickly as dehydration will kill you. just saying ) )Īnd then making the wolf attacks more rare. ![]() ![]() (Though I think they could fix this by introducing cougars which do and do live in Canada, particularly on Vancouver Island where hinterland is. But I don't think they are trying to make an ultra realistic game. ![]() I agree you get cabin fever a little quick to be realistic.
